Your dashboard

The dashboard is the home base for everything you can do on AppSync. It shows every app you have access to (or could request access to) as an icon.

How the grid works

Apps are arranged like icons on a phone home screen:

  • Unlocked apps come first, in alphabetical order. Click an icon to open the app.
  • Locked apps come after, also alphabetical. They're shown faded with a small padlock.

If an app has a logo, you'll see it. If not, you'll see two letters in a coloured box — usually the first two letters of the app's name.

Locked apps and the lock icon

A padlock means you don't have access yet. There are three possible reasons:

  • Approval needed. Click the icon to send a request. The app's admin will review it. Once they approve, the app unlocks automatically — refresh the dashboard and the lock disappears.
  • Awaiting approval. You've already requested access; you're just waiting on a decision.
  • Access revoked. The admin previously revoked your access. Contact them if you think this is wrong.

You won't always know which of these states an app is in — the icon just shows "locked". If clicking it does nothing, you've already requested access.

App bar at the top

The purple bar across the top of every signed-in page contains:

  • AppSync — clicking takes you back here.
  • Welcome, Name — confirms who you're signed in as.
  • Profile — manage your password and 2FA. See the Profile help page.
  • Admin — only shown to administrators.
  • Sign out — ends your session.
